Geneva Auto Show: Electric Jaguar Wins Car Of The Year.

“It is the most technologically advanced battery electric vehicle. It’s a true game-changer”

GENEVA – Jaguar’s all-electric I-Pace SUV was voted ‘Car of the Year’ on the eve of the Geneva Auto Show.

The other contenders were the Renault Alpine A110 sports car, Citroën C5 Aircross SUV, the Ford Focus, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Peugeot 508 sedans. All the other contenders were powered by traditional engines.

This is the first time a Jaguar, part of the Jaguar Land Rover company owned by Tata Motors of India, has won the award.

“I-PACE was designed and engineered in the UK from a clean sheet of paper. It is the most technologically advanced battery electric vehicle. It’s a true game-changer. Winning European Car of the Year is an honour and real recognition of what our world-class team has delivered,” Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer, Jaguar Land Rover said.

The Geneva Auto Show opens to the public March 7 through 17 at the Palexpo center.
