| May 14, 2002 Buy Esso petrol on Saturday; strike back against the environmental fascists. Neil Winton Dont let Greenpeace violence curb open debate Human influence on climate change unproven Greenpeace spends much of its time lying about mans influence on global warming and refusing to face the facts. If anyone disagrees with Greenpeace, it mobilises its mobs to intimidate the opposition into submission. On Saturday, May 18, environmental activists at Greenpeace will be at it again, calling for a boycott of 400 Esso petrol filling stations across the U.K. This is classic fascism – the belief that your cause is so important, so holy, that no further argument will be tolerated. Using crowds of chanting people to block off filling stations is not part of a democratic debate. Greenpeace uses the presence of its ignorant dupes to intimidate. It is always careful to verbally eschew physical violence, but Greenpeace talks out of both sides of its mouth. The presence of the mob is itself violence. It certainly is not a rational, democratic argument. Citizens will not be able to go about their normal business. But the arguments are over. Greenpeace is convinced. End of story. Greenpeace fills its website with pictures of cuddly tiger dolls, but this is a truly sinister organisation. Corrupt and flawed Serious scientists (see stories in Global Warming section, starting with Science behind Kyoto Treaty unsound, experts say) know that the arguments put forward by the U.Ns Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are corrupt and flawed. The apparent consensus behind the drive to implement its provisions is based on media myths, a group of experienced and respected experts recently said. A report, published by the European Science and Environment Forum (ESEF) in March said the defective science behind Kyoto used to justify future government action to curb carbon dioxide emissions was leading politicians to take actions which could actually be harmful or counter-productive. Politicians were being urged to solve a problem that might not exist. But Greenpeace doesnt care about this. It is convinced that human activity is killing the planet. Esso is making a fortune from destroying the planet. What are you doing this Saturday? Why not join us in a fun, legal day of protest? We're targeting more than 400 Esso stations around the UK, says the Greenpeace website. Heres your chance to put these immature posturers in their place. Go to your local Esso station on Saturday, ignore the pimply protesters, and quietly fill up. Go to www.esso.co.uk to find the filling station nearest you. |
