BBC Will Ignore New Evidence Undermining Climate “Consensus”

The global warming fanatics, who will have us back living in caves if we are foolish enough pay attention to their ignorant and arrogant message, took a hit below the waterline this summer, but don’t expect the ceaseless propaganda from the BBC to stop.

First came the news that warming, instead of driving temperatures relentless higher through the 1990s and into the 21stcentury, actually peaked in 1934. It turns out that the numbers, which previously showed that the world’s hottest year ever was 1998, were based on false data, and this was discovered by Canadian computer analyst Stephen McIntyre, who also earlier demolished the so-called “hockey stick” claims used extensively by climate alarmist and the only U.S. presidential candidate to ever unconcede defeat, Al Gore. (The “hockey stick” allowed the likes of Gore and swivel-eyed attack environmentalist George Monbiot to claim that temperatures were flat for 1,000 years until they spiked in the 20th century. In truth, in the middle of this period temperatures soared, without the aid of industrial levels of carbon dioxide (CO2)).

McIntyre’s discovered errors in the compilation of the temperature record since the 1880s, and 1998 is now the second hottest year on record after 1934, followed by 1921, 2006, 1931, 1999 and 1953.

This makes it hard for the fanatics to claim that world temperatures are rising because of accelerating amounts of CO2 as the steep rise in CO2 occurred during the second half of the 20th century.

This news broke too late for American magazine NewsWeek to hold back a painful and shameless cover story which traduced honest scientists, who are often forced to forgo funding unless they kowtow to the Spanish Inquisition determined to con the public into acknowledging that CO2 emissions critical to our lifestyle are warming the planet. These scientists were accused of being in the pay of big oil, when in fact the science speaks eloquently on their behalf.

Nail two
The second nail in the alarmist’s coffin came with new research indicating that the climate may only be one third as sensitive to CO2 as had been previously thought.

And recent satellite figures from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration showed that there has been no warming since 1998, and since then temperatures have slipped a bit.

But it’s not only the fascists of the left that would have us destroy our life styles by pointlessly curbing our use of fossil fuels.

Conservative Party leader David Cameron has also fallen for this silly argument, and his Quality of Life commission, led by public school dropout Zac Goldsmith and yesterday’s John Selwyn Gummer, are expected to suggest some deeply unpopular ideas, like curbing internal air travel and penal taxation of SUVs. (That’ll go down well with EasyJet and Ryanair users, and in Solihull, home of Land Rover). It remains to be seen if the superficial Cameron, who powers his family’s hair drier with a £4,000 windmill on his roof, will kick this report into the long grass, because if he doesn’t, his plans for power will come to an end.

The BBC though is certain to sail serenely on, pedalling the lies perpetrated by the likes of “Science” Correspondent David Shukman, who regularly frightens us to death with his reports on how we are all going to drown soon because the world’s ice is melting, but who always ignores the report next day saying that this in fact isn’t so. How boring to have to balance your reporting with the truth.

Brown Bounce Contrived So It Can Be Zapped Later
The media is determined to convince us that the “Brown Bounce” exists, but newspapers are only doing it so that they can puncture the balloon royally when it suits them.

You only have to think of a few things Brown, our new Prime Minister, has done to realise that the “bounce” is nonsense. Firstly, on the steps of number 10 he talked of how the change would begin now, when of course he’s been at the tiller for the past 10 years. Nobody fell for that. Foot and mouth came back, again, on Neo Labour’s watch. Then there was the cock-up in Washington when the egregious Douglas Alexander made a speech about foreign policy which was so loosely worded it had to be swiftly corrected and explained the next day to show that there was no change in our special relationship with the U.S. Then there is the steadfast, bare-faced lie that the new European Constitution is not a constitution. If that’s not enough for you, don’t forget Brown is the man who destroyed Europe’s best private pension schemes. The media could have just as easily portrayed Brown’s first weeks as chaos and incompetence. They chose to build him up so they can shoot him down.

So how come the polls showed a pickup in Brown’s apparent support in the country?

That is simply because most fair-minded people, asked a stupid question like if there was a general election tomorrow, would you vote for Brown, would probably think, “Jeepers, the guy’s only been there 10 minutes, yea sure he’s doing ok”, before jumping into the car and heading for the coast. It won’t be long before voters decide that they don’t in fact want anything to do with this slack-jawed Stalinist. Unfortunately for the country, the Tories are led by a fool who has corralled all the party’s hand-wringers on to his front bench, with a couple of honourable exceptions.

We Don’t Have To Be Bullied By The RMT
There is a way to end the outrage of public sector unions like the RMT holding the rest of us to ransom with one-day action or strikes for “short” periods. The government should outlaw them, certainly, but don’t hold your breath for any action.
In the U.S. this never happens because unions usually have fixed term contracts which are quite strictly interpreted. If a union goes on strike, it is in breach of its contract, and cannot go back to work until a new contract has been agreed. This stops short-term disruptive action which causes mayhem for the public, at no great cost to the union. If the RMT broke its contract and had to hit the streets indefinitely, it would be much less inclined to strike, saving the rest of us a lot of aggravation, and keeping prices down on the Tube, which have reached eye-watering levels. I recently went 3 stops on the District line and it cost me £4-€6, each way!

Knee-Jerk Anti-Americanism Disgraces The Nation
One of the most depressing developments of recent years in England is the almost routine, knee-jerk contempt of America (declaration of interest – I’m married to one).

The easiest way to earn a round of applause on programmes like Radio 4’s Any Questions, is to make some infantile remark about President Bush, or Americans in general. One of the Any Questions speakers last Friday, a lefty, pea-brain, Guardian cartoonist called Steve Bell, made some asinine remark about Bush and monkies. The, I would guess, middle class audience who you would think would know better, laughed like drains.

I suppose this isn’t really surprising given the drip-drip of false reporting with attitude out of the U.S., led of course by the BBC and its lead liar in America Matt Frei. This is followed by many of the newspapers, who seek only to reinforce prejudices rather than destroy them. I can remember during my 7 years reporting in America how British newspaper operatives worked. They always met in the same bar in New York. They socialised with each other. They never met any Americans socially. They believed the U.S. network news like CBS, NBC and ABC (about as reliable as the BBC in their ability to distort any story into something acceptable to lefties).

I regularly hear friends and colleagues slipping into this anti-American mode, simply because the weight of propaganda makes it seem true. In a queue in a shop the other day, an obviously American temporary assistant was actually, genuinely trying to help customers, going beyond the call of duty, unlike the usual Sharons and Tracy lazy shav slag you usually get. This actually seemed to ignite the customers into an anti-American attitude. How cynical we have become. Then you hear some retired Army ponce on the radio telling us that the U.S. doesn’t know about “nation building” and how they are screwing up in Iraq, conveniently forgetting important achievements like nation building in Germany after the last war, or the fact that maybe the Iraqis are a bit less likely to react in an intelligent way compared with Germans.

I find this development contemptible, but also showing a degeneration of traditional English values. These used to reliably see through differences in accents or cultures to see the truth beneath. Not any more.
